Recap
Reaching Baratie, the restaurant ship, Luffy met Sanji, who became one of their crew members. We have seen how Luffy and Zoro fought against Don Krieg and Hawk-Eye. Also, we saw Nami leave the crew in the Going Merry. Zoro got severely injured during the fight with Hawk-Eye. In the last episode, we found Luffy defeated Don Krieg and also took Sanji along with them from Baratie

The Most Wicked Man of East Blue, Fishman Pirate Arlong
In One Piece Episode 31, Luffy and Sanji discover from a frightened Yosaku that Nami has gone to confront the notorious fish-man Arlong to claim his 20 million bounty. Yosaku warns them about Arlong’s dangerous reputation as one of the Seven Warlords, which shocks Luffy as he realizes there are others as powerful as Mihawk. Despite this revelation, Sanji is tasked with cooking a meal while they prepare to pursue Nami.
Meanwhile, Nami reaches her hometown at Arlong Park, where a young boy mistakenly attacks her, believing she’s a fish-man. Inside, Arlong is seen making a corrupt deal with a Navy officer, while Nami is welcomed back by the Arlong Pirates. At the same time, Johnny, Usopp, and Zoro arrive and spot their ship, the Going Merry. When Zoro is captured by the fish-men and brought before Arlong, he’s stunned to see Nami reveal a tattoo of the Arlong Pirates’ logo, indicating her allegiance to them.
One Piece Episode 32
The Witch of Cocoyashi Village, Arlong’s female Officer
In One Piece Episode 32, Luffy, Sanji, and Yosaku are startled when a massive sea monster attacks their ship. Sanji calms the situation by feeding the monster, but it turns aggressive again, prompting Sanji to kick it away. Meanwhile, Usopp wakes up in a house with Nojiko, who saved him and the boy he fought earlier. Nojiko reveals that she is Nami’s sister and explains Nami’s role as the leader of the Arlong Pirates, which shocks and angers Usopp. He is also concerned about Zoro, who is captured by Arlong.
At Arlong Park, Nami is tormented by Arlong, who mocks her loyalty to her village. As Zoro attempts to escape, Nami dives in to save him, telling Arlong she wants to deal with Zoro herself. Meanwhile, Arlong and his crew arrive at Kokoyashi Village, where they threaten the villagers and the old man collecting weapons. Despite the villagers’ fear, the old man encourages them to wait for a saviour. Nami secretly helps Zoro by freeing him and giving him his sword, instructing him to escape before Arlong returns.

Usoop’s Death?! Luffy-Yet to Land
In One Piece Episode 33, Usopp bravely confronts Arlong but is easily overpowered when Arlong demonstrates his immense strength. Meanwhile, Zoro defeats the pirates at Arlong Park, and Nami returns to her village, revealing her plan to buy the village from Arlong with 100 million berries. Luffy, eager to save Nami, ties a sea monster to their boat to reach Arlong Park faster.
However, Usopp is captured by Arlong’s crew and taken back to the park, where Nami is forced to maintain her cover by pretending to stab Usopp, throwing him into the sea. This act shocks Yosaku, who believes Nami has truly betrayed them.
As Zoro rushes to rescue Usopp, Nami retreats to her room, overwhelmed with guilt and memories of her painful past. Luffy’s boat crashes into the forest as they find Zoro, who informs them that Nami killed Usopp, leaving everyone stunned. The episode ends with a mysterious figure emerging from the sea, adding further suspense to the unfolding events.

Reunited- Usopp tells Nami’s True Story
In One Piece Episode 34, the crew is shocked to hear that Nami killed Usopp. Nami coldly confirms it and tells Luffy and the others to leave and find another navigator. Zoro, furious, almost attacks her, but Sanji intervenes, reminding him not to raise a sword against a woman. Nami insists on staying to earn money and walks away, leaving the crew confused. Meanwhile, the villagers mistakenly believe a Marine ship will save them from Arlong, but Arlong bribes the Marines to leave. He then orders his men to attack the Marines, sinking their ship and crushing the villagers’ hopes of rescue.
Back at Arlong Park, Arlong reveals his plan to take the village from Nami after she gathers 100 million berries, but he intends to keep her for her navigational skills. Meanwhile, Usopp, who survived, reunites with the crew and explains that Nami stabbed her own hand to fake his death and save him. Nojiko, Nami’s sister, later meets the crew and urges them to leave the island, explaining Nami’s difficult childhood. Luffy refuses to leave and goes for a walk as Nojiko begins to tell them more about Nami’s past, while Nami dreams of her childhood and a woman named Bellemere, who was dear to her and Nojiko.

The Hidden Past! Female Fighter Bellemere!
In One Piece Episode 35, Luffy casually encounters Hatchan the Octopus and some Fishmen while out for a walk. Unfazed by their presence, Luffy introduces himself and continues on his way, leaving Hatchan puzzled by his carefree attitude. Meanwhile, Nojiko shares the story of Nami’s difficult childhood with the crew.
Nami wakes up and, triggered by the sight of oranges, recalls her past, including her struggle with poverty and her adoptive mother Bellemere’s sacrifices. Nami once stole a navigation book because they couldn’t afford it, leading to a confrontation where she lashed out at Bellemere, blaming her for their poverty. However, after learning about how Bellemere found and adopted her and Nojiko, Nami’s anger faded, and the family reconciled.
The episode then shifts to the arrival of Arlong and his pirates in Cocoyashi village. The villagers, terrified, paid Arlong to spare their lives, but trouble loomed as Arlong noticed smoke from Bellemere’s house on the outskirts. Nami and Nojiko watched in fear as Arlong headed towards their home, where Bellemere, unaware of the imminent danger, was cooking soup for them. The villagers, knowing Bellemere’s financial struggles, feared how she would deal with Arlong’s demands.
One Piece Episode 36
Survive! The Mother Bellemere and Nami’s family!
In One Piece Episode 36, Bellemere bravely confronts Arlong and his pirates when they arrive at her home. Despite her attempts to protect Nami and Nojiko, she is overpowered and gravely injured by Arlong. When the pirates demand payment, Bellemere admits that she has two daughters, sacrificing her life to protect them.
Arlong kills Bellemere in front of Nami and Nojiko, leaving them devastated. Impressed by Nami’s map-making skills, Arlong forcibly takes her to work as his navigator, while the villagers, beaten but alive, vow to protect Nami.
After Bellemere’s death, Nami returns to the village, showing the villagers the money she’s saved, but they mistakenly believe she’s betrayed them. However, Nami is secretly saving up 100 million berries to buy the village’s freedom. Nojiko reveals that she has been stealing money from the pirates to help Nami reach her goal. As Luffy arrives in the village, Navy soldiers accuse Nami of stealing from Arlong, throwing her plan into jeopardy and further complicating the situation.

Luffy Stands Up! End of a Broken Promise!
In One Piece Episode 37, Nami’s painful past and her struggle against Arlong reach a turning point. After Arlong deceitfully promises to leave the village if Nami gathers 100 million berries, Nami is betrayed when the Navy, manipulated by Arlong, discovers and confiscates her hidden money.
During the confrontation, Nojiko is shot while protecting Nami, leaving Nami devastated by Arlong’s treachery. When Nami confronts Arlong, he cruelly dismisses her anger, mocking her efforts to save the village and leaving her crushed.
Returning to the village, Nami learns that the villagers have always known about her sacrifices and are now ready to fight back against Arlong. Fearing for their safety, Nami tries to stop them but is overwhelmed by their determination. In a powerful moment, Luffy offers his support by placing his straw hat on Nami’s head, symbolizing his commitment to help her.
With his crew, Luffy heads to Arlong Park, where he shatters the gate with a single punch, signalling the start of an epic battle to free Nami and the village from Arlong’s tyranny.
One Piece Episode 38
Luffy in Trouble! Fishmen vs. Luffy Pirates!
In One Piece Episode 38, the fierce battle between Luffy and Arlong kicks off with Luffy landing a powerful punch that sends Arlong flying, declaring his intent to defeat him for making Nami suffer. Luffy’s immense strength and determination leave the villagers and the fishmen in shock. As the fight intensifies, Hatchan, an octopus fishman, summons a giant sea monster to turn the tide.
However, the creature hesitates upon recognizing Luffy and Sanji, who had previously defeated it. Arlong orders the monster to attack, but Luffy effortlessly hurls it back into the sea, showcasing his incredible Devil Fruit powers.
Despite Luffy’s impressive display, Arlong and his top allies remain unfazed. In a twist, Luffy gets his legs stuck in the ground during the fight, allowing Hatchan to create chaos by spewing black ink. Arlong seizes the opportunity to throw Luffy—along with the chunk of ground his legs are trapped in—into the sea.
As Luffy struggles underwater, Sanji attempts a rescue but is warned by Zoro about the dangers of fighting Fishmen underwater. Meanwhile, Usopp cleverly escapes from pursuing Fishmen using a fireball. The episode ends on a tense note, with Luffy trapped underwater and the crew facing a dangerous situation against Arlong and his powerful crew.
One Piece Episode 39
Luffy Drowning! Zoro vs. Octopus Hatchan!
In One Piece Episode 39, Luffy is trapped underwater, struggling to breathe, while his crew battles desperately to save him. Despite being severely weakened by his previous fight with Hawk-Eye, Zoro fiercely confronts Hatchan, the octopus Fishman. Although Zoro manages to hold his ground, his injuries catch up with him, and he collapses from exhaustion.
Hatchan seizes the opportunity, taking Zoro’s swords and preparing to finish him off. Meanwhile, Sanji, realizing Zoro’s dire state is due to his severe wounds, attempts to intervene but is overpowered and thrown through a wall by another Fishman. Despite these setbacks, Zoro, driven by sheer willpower, manages to get back on his feet and, using a combination of his swords and those of Johnny and Yosaku, ultimately defeats Hatchan in a final, intense burst of energy.
Meanwhile, Luffy’s situation grows increasingly dire as he remains submerged and unable to free himself from the rock trapping his legs. Genzo and Nojiko rush to his aid, with Genzo trying to break the rock and Nojiko attempting to keep Luffy’s head above water. However, their efforts are not enough to free him entirely.
As Sanji realizes the urgency of the situation, he dives into the water to rescue Luffy but is quickly attacked by a Fishman. Genzo continues his desperate attempts to revive Luffy, who remains unconscious, while another Fishman is still chasing Usopp. The episode ends with mounting tension as Luffy’s crew struggles against overwhelming odds to save their captain.

One Piece Episode 40
Proud, Tall Warriors! Dramatic Battle of Sanji and Usopp!
In One Piece Episode 40, the battle against Arlong and his crew reaches new heights as Sanji engages in a fierce underwater fight with a powerful Fishman skilled in karate. Despite being dragged deeper into the sea and suffering from intense pressure and lack of air, Sanji cleverly bites the Fishman’s gill, forcing him to the surface. Once back on land, Sanji takes advantage of the terrain and swiftly defeats the Fishman, killing him. Meanwhile, Zoro, still weakened from his injuries, continues to fight, and the villagers anxiously await the outcome of the battle as they face the looming threat of Arlong.
As the situation grows more dire, Genzo and Nojiko struggle to free Luffy, who remains trapped underwater with a rock pinning his legs. Usopp, caught by a Fishman, cleverly fakes his death but ultimately decides to fight back, using his wits to set the Fishman ablaze and defeat him. The episode culminates in a tense moment as Arlong, furious at the defeat of his comrades, unleashes powerful water strikes against Zoro and Sanji.
With Luffy still unconscious and the crew struggling under Arlong’s assault, Nami arrives, ready to confront Arlong and put an end to the suffering he has caused. The stage is set for a decisive and emotional showdown.

Arlong
Introduction: Arlong is a Saw Shark Fishman. He is the captain of the FIsh-man crew.
Abilities: He can lift a house with his bare hands. He can crush metals and stones with his jaws.
Personalities: He was very cruel to humans and loved money.
Bellemere
Introduction: She was a former Marine and foster mother of Nmai and Nojiko
Abilities: Se had enough battle experience to survive.
Personalities: She is quiet Confident, and occasionally acts impulsive.
Hatchan
Introduction: He is an Octopus Fish-man and an officer of Fish-man Pirates
Abilities: he can shoot Ink streams from his mouth. He has a massive amount of strength to defeat pirates.
Personalities: He is not very Intelligent, and easily gets angry.
Nojiko
Introduction: She owns an Orange farm in Cocoyashi village and she is the sister of Nami
Abilities: She helps people who are struggling to survive.
Personalities: She is highly responsible and generous.
Genzo
Introduction: He is the chief of Cocoyashi village.
Abilities: He is an Ordinary fighter and looks after the village.
Personalities: he takes full responsibility for the village whenever there is trouble.
