One Piece Episode 51
A Burning Culinary Battle? Sanji vs. The Gorgeous Chef
In One Piece Episode 51, Sanji is excited to participate in a cooking competition in Loguetown after being challenged by Carmen-san, a renowned chef. Luffy and Zoro, after enjoying a meal at a restaurant, face a predicament when they find themselves without money. They unknowingly receive a bag of gold coins from Captain Buggy, who is disguised and sitting nearby. Luffy only takes what he needs to pay for their meal, returning the rest and thanking Buggy, who remains unrecognized.
Meanwhile, Sanji learns about the rare Elephant Bluefin tuna, which is the prize for the cooking competition, and decides to compete. The competition unfolds through several rounds, with Sanji and Carmen-san reaching the final. Sanji wins the contest, earning the title of the best cook in the West Blue. While Sanji is thrilled about cooking the rare fish, Luffy and Zoro explore the streets and Luffy’s hat is blown towards the execution point. There, Luffy discovers that Buggy and Smoker are converging to confront him, heightening the tension as the competition concludes.
One Piece Episode 52
Buggy’s Revenge! The Man who Smiles at the Execution Platform!
In One Piece Episode 52, Iron Club Alvida arrives at the execution point and reveals her new, beautiful appearance, thanks to a Devil Fruit power that changed her looks. She demands that Luffy join her, but he doesn’t recognize her. Captain Buggy and his crew also arrive, and Luffy is quickly trapped by Cabaji. Buggy and his pirates prepare to attack, while Smoker, who wants to capture Luffy, orders Taishigi to join him. Meanwhile, a Navy officer reports that Buggy and Alvida are at the execution point, prompting Smoker to rush to the scene.
As Buggy tries to kill Luffy, a powerful lightning strike hits the area, causing a blue flame to engulf the tower and injure Buggy. Luffy remains unharmed, leading Zoro and Sanji to believe that divine intervention saved him. Smoker, seeing the chaos, orders his officers to attack the pirates. The Straw Hats, realizing they must escape to avoid missing the Grand Line, rush back to their ship. The town is engulfed in darkness due to black clouds, and a man warns of an approaching cyclone, heightening the urgency for the Straw Hats to leave.
One Piece Episode 53
The Legend Has Begun! Head to the Grand Line
In One Piece Episode 53, Captain Buggy and Iron Club Alvida pursue the Straw Hat Pirates, but they are intercepted by Smoker, who traps them with his powers. Meanwhile, Cabaji attempts to burn the Straw Hats’ ship but fails due to the rain. As Usopp and Nami try to board the ship, they are surrounded by Navy officers. Zoro battles Tashigi, who is defeated but spared by Zoro due to her resemblance to his childhood friend, Kuina. Smoker confronts Luffy, challenging him to a fight. While the Navy tries to attack the Straw Hats’ ship, Usopp helps Sanji board by using his catapult, allowing them to regroup.
Luffy struggles against Smoker’s smoke-based powers until a mysterious figure intervenes, stopping Smoker and triggering a powerful windstorm that sweeps through the town. The storm gathers the Straw Hats together, and Luffy uses his Gum-Gum powers to get everyone back on the ship. As they prepare to leave, both Smoker and Buggy vow to chase them into the Grand Line for revenge.
The episode ends with the Straw Hats reaffirming their dreams—Sanji to find All Blue, Zoro to become the world’s greatest swordsman, Nami to map the world, Luffy to become the Pirate King, and Usopp to become a brave warrior of the sea—before setting sail for the Grand Line.

In One Piece Episode 54, a young girl named Apis escapes from a Marine ship and ends up on the Going Merry after Luffy accidentally pulls her onboard while fishing. The Straw Hat crew learns that Apis is from Warship Island but she is initially reluctant to share why the Marines were holding her. Despite her initial fear of pirates, Apis starts to warm up to the crew, especially after they treat her kindly and Sanji supports her decision to keep her secrets. The next morning, Apis makes breakfast for everyone, though it turns out too spicy due to a mistake.
Meanwhile, the Marines spot the Straw Hats and realize Apis is with them, prompting an attack. The crew narrowly escapes when a gust of wind propels them south, but they soon realize they have drifted into the Calm Belt, a dangerous area of the sea with no wind or currents. As the Marines stop their pursuit, Nami and Zoro recognize the peril they are in, setting the stage for the next challenge the crew will face.

The Holy Beast! Apis’ Secret and the Legendary Island
In One Piece Episode 55, the Straw Hats find themselves stranded in the Calm Belt, surrounded by massive Sea Kings. When a Sea King attacks, Apis, the young girl they rescued, bravely pulls out its nostril hair, causing it to sneeze and launch the Going Merry out of danger. The crew continues their journey to Warship Island, where they are met with suspicion by the island’s residents, who are wary of pirates. Apis reassures them that the Straw Hats are kind, and her grandfather, Bokuden, invites the crew to a celebration in her honor.
During the celebration, Bokuden recounts an ancient legend about the millennial dragons and the mythical Lost Island, which is believed to have sunken long ago. Apis later sneaks away to visit a dragon named Grandpa Ryu, who she has been helping to find his way back to the Lost Island. Luffy and Nami discover the dragon and learn that Apis can communicate with animals due to a Devil Fruit she ate. Determined to help Ryu return home, Luffy decides to assist in finding the Lost Island, despite the dangers. Meanwhile, the Marines, led by Eric, close in on Warship Island, believing that Apis holds the key to finding the legendary dragonite.

Eric’s Raid! Great Escape from Gunkan Island!
In One Piece Episode 56, the Straw Hat crew, now aware that the Marines is hunting Apis due to the legendary dragon Ryu, hastily plans their escape from Warship Island to help Ryu return to the Lost Island. As they prepare to leave, they are confronted by a formidable enemy who seeks to capture Ryu for himself. While Zoro and Usopp skillfully maneuver the Going Merry to a narrow escape route, Nami and Apis work together to get Ryu onto a cart for transport.
Meanwhile, Luffy and Sanji engage the Marines in a fierce battle to buy the crew enough time to complete their preparations. Despite the intense fight, the Straw Hats manage to secure Ryu and set off, with the ship pulling the cart as they begin their search for the Lost Island, determined to help Ryu find his way back home.
One Piece Episode 57
Lone Island in a Distant Sea! The Legendary Lost Island
In One Piece Episode 57, After the Straw Hats escape Warship Island with Ryu, the Marines prepare to pursue them, with Eric confident that the crew will lead him to the millennial dragons. Although Eric attempts to keep the discovery of the dragonite to himself, Commodore Nelson becomes aware of the situation and angrily orders a fleet to Warship Island.
Meanwhile, the Straw Hats continue their journey, towing the sleeping Ryu in search of Lost Island. When a hot meal accidentally spills on Ryu, it jogs his memory, and he recalls that Lost Island is located east of Warship Island. As they head in that direction, they encounter a mysterious mirage and get caught in a dense fog, followed by a sudden storm.
The storm causes the ropes towing Ryu to break, but the crew manages to secure him just as they spot an island at the storm’s eye. Nami theorizes that the island’s hidden location, masked by mirages and stormy seas, explains why it has remained undiscovered. They reach the island and begin their search for Ryu’s nest by heading to the mountain’s peak.
When they find a building with a dragon emblem, Apis notices that her pendant might be the key to opening it. However, before they can unlock the door, the ground beneath them collapses, and they fall into an ancient temple. Inside, they discover paintings that might hold clues to the true location of the Lost Island.
One Piece Episode 58
Duel in the Ruins! Strained Zoro vs. Eric
In One Piece Episode 58, The Straw Hat Pirates reach the top of the mountain and discover a dome-shaped building, but the ground beneath them collapses, landing them in an underground area. There, they find ceiling paintings of a Sennenryu, leading Apis to believe that the Dragon’s Nest was once on the island. However, after further inspection, Nami realizes that the Dragon’s Nest was actually on Warship Island, which had sunk into the sea.
Ryu, the dragon, confirms this after watching a flock of birds. Eric, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation, now knows the location of the Dragon’s Nest and attacks the crew. While Luffy breaks through the building’s wall, Eric confronts Zoro, but the rest of the crew escapes with Ryu on a cart.
As the Straw Hats head towards Warship Island, Eric pursues them, but Zoro intercepts him, allowing the crew to reach the Going Merry. With Luffy’s help, Zoro returns to the ship just as Eric swears to continue the chase. The Marines, led by Nelson Royale, block the Straw Hats’ path with an impenetrable barrier of chained ships. Undeterred, the crew decides to board the Marine ships, defeat the Marines, and cut the chains to break through the blockade, determined to continue their journey and protect Ryu.
One Piece Episode 59
Luffy, Completely Surrounded! Admiral Nelson’s Secret Plan
In One Piece Episode 59, The Straw Hat Pirates face off against Nelson Royale’s fleet, dodging cannonballs as Luffy uses his Gum Gum Balloon to send one back, damaging Nelson’s ships. When Nelson orders the use of the Big Elimination Cannon, Usopp counters by causing it to explode. Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro then launch a counterattack, boarding the Marine ship, defeating the Marines, and cutting the chains linking the fleet. Meanwhile, Eric, seeking the Dragon’s Nest for himself, betrays Nelson and attempts to escape with Ryu and Apis on a raft.
In a final confrontation, Eric tries to take Ryu, but the dragon defends Apis, knocking Eric off the boat. Ryu, now able to move and fly, tragically heads towards Nelson’s ship, where he is hit by multiple cannonballs. Despite his injuries, Ryu manages to ensure Apis’s safety, entrusting her to Luffy before succumbing to his wounds and falling into the sea. The crew is left to mourn the loss of Ryu, who gave his life to protect Apis.
One Piece Episode 60
Those Who Solar in the Open Skies! Revival of the 1000-Year Legend
In One Piece Episdoe 60, After Ryu is struck by cannon fire, Luffy tries to encourage the dying dragon to keep fighting. As the Marines, under Nelson’s orders, launch a harpoon, Luffy grabs it mid-air and hurls it back at the Marine ship, causing significant damage. In a final act of strength, Ryu releases a powerful call that summons other millennial dragons (sennenryus).
Luffy seems to understand Ryu’s intentions and promises to deliver his message to Apis. With renewed determination, Luffy uses his Gum-Gum Rocket to launch himself onto a passing dragon’s neck, then unleashes a devastating Battle-Axe attack that splits Nelson’s ship in two, forcing the Marines to retreat in fear.
Suddenly, the ocean and Warship Island tremble as an island begins to resurface, revealing itself to be the Lost Island, the nesting ground of the millennial dragons. Nami realizes that the dragons are named not for their lifespan but for their thousand-year migration cycle to this hidden island. As the sennenryus land, they see the fossilized remains of their ancestors, the Dragonite that Nelson and Eric sought. Ryu, with his head submerged in water, lies motionless, and Apis mourns his loss, believing he broke his promise to get better.
Luffy reassures her that sennenryus are reborn in the nest, and moments later, a baby dragon hatches, presumably Ryu reborn, communicating with Apis. As the crew takes in this miraculous event, Eric, soaked and enraged, reappears and slashes Nelson with his Devil Fruit power, rejecting Nelson’s offer. The Straw Hat Pirates look back in shock as Eric combs his distinctive ice cream-like hair, signalling the end of their adventure on Warship Island.
